Montego Commissions Rural Electrification Project, Awards Scholarships in Sapele, Delta State.

This project was executed in one of Montego's host communities in line with the company's goal of supporting it's local communities. Providing much-needed succour to the power challenges hitherto being faced in the area has residents to reap the benefits of reliable power supply in going about their economic and domestic activities.

It continues to be a matter of importance to Montego to not only carry out business operations in a socially responsible manner, but to ensure that we positively impact the communities in which we operate. We are committed to continued growth in synergy between our company and our host communities.

Montego also awarded scholarships to two indigenes of the Igbeku Community. The recipients, Miss Joy Idegbe and Mr. Miracle Enughure are both students in the tertiary institutions within the country.

Responding to the scholarship award which we had just received, Mr. Miracle Enughure, a student of the University of Port Harcourt expressed his joy, stating that the scholarship would ease pursuit of knowledge he had embarked on and he couldn't adequately express his gratitude. 

Miss Joy Idegbe, the second scholarship award recipient echoed Enughure's excitement. She expressed her joy, noting that the scholarship will go a long way in helping her realise her dream of graduating with a degree in Microbiology.

Also speaking on behalf of Igbeku Community, the Community Liasion Officer, Mr. Godwin Kebuge and the Community Light Commitee Chairman, Mr. Felix Ipemu both expressed pleasure at the way Montego Upstream Services Ltd. has shown support to the community by providing the electricity transformer, the scholarship award, among other development projects the company was carrying out within the community.
