Montego Donates Food Boxes to Local Communities

Montego has donated boxes containing essential food items to residents of low-income communities, located within its operational area. This comes as part of Montego Foundation's initiative to support the achievement of SDG 2 - Zero Hunger (the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals) and continued effort to alleviate food insecurity, made even worse by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Montego has partnered with local food bank - the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, a non-profit, nutrition-focused initiative committed to fighting hunger, reducing food waste and solving the problem of malnutrition, to donate food boxes to low-income families within her host community.

The donations are part of a larger initiative to make concerted effort toward supporting the achievement of United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal 2 of Zero Hunger, which is one of our major CSR focuses. The boxes dubbed "Montego Boxes of Hope", contained enough essential food items to feed a family of five for several weeks, and were very well received by members of the community where the donation was made.

Montego had carried out food drives in other local communities in recent times as a way of supporting local communities. Food security continues to be a major issue around the world and in our immediate communities hence our committment to doing our part to achieve a better and more sustainable future for our local communities through hunger eradication and social development.
